No actually its becoming the norm now. If you look around in the gaming community, girls are becoming more involved and are participating and placing in tournaments. There are gamer groups for girls poppin up all over the place.
If that's not the only thing, a lot of my guy friends love having me around because I do something they do. Not a lot of girls can relate to their boyfriends. Its kinda like how there are girl racers out, same basis.
So, yes its normal. And yes you are allowed to beat the boys at their own games. Just don't rub it in their faces.... lol it hurts their pride some times.

Depends on where you are. I live in Japan and everyone plays video games here... men, women, girls, boys, grandparents, etc.. I guess you could say it's part of the culture here. If you start talking about a popular game with someone who has never mentioned gaming before, they will probably know at least a little about what you are talking about. That's a lot different than say, North America, where mostly the people who play video games are part of a small, hardcore gaming group. I can't speak to what's going on in Europe but I imagine it's pretty similar to North America.

I don't want to lie to make myself look good, so I'm just going to tell you the whole truth.
Yes, actually. On average, females do not entertain themselves through competitve means whereas males seem to have the innate ability to compete for satisfaction. Keep in mind that females are NOT the only ones socially active (as people tend to generalize), females just prefer to forgo competition for connection. Why do you think kings tend to wage wars more often than queens?
This, however, has no whatsoever demeaning towards female's masculinity, because competition isn't always the only way to display superiority. Good for you if you beat your brother at gaming.

That's an interesting question. And it depends on what you mean by "weird." If you mean is it strange like something that kind of freaks you out, well of course not.
But if you mean unusual, as in not common, then yes it is a little weird because in our society, and in most Western societies girls are socialized from an early age to participate in activities like playing with dolls, talking with their fellow friends, maybe coloring, playing with "girl" toys, having this obsession with princesses (my 5 year old niece wanted me to be a princess myself the other day and kiss my hand, I tried to tell her it was the other way around but anyway I let her), and other things. Usually video games are something that boys are more into.
I still remember when the original Nintendo came out, how fascinated I was by this electronic magic. I was about 4 years old at the time and my older brother and sister were around 10 and 12. So when my dad got the Nintendo for them at first we are all ecstatic and going crazy...for me all I could do was watch in fascination. My older brother and sister were the ones playing. They soon got addicted - my brother was addicted to Mario and my sister was addicted to the duck hunting/skeet shooting games. As you can expect, fights ensued. Nasty fights between my older bro and sis. Then the Nintendo disappeared quite suddenly and sadly.
A year later my older brother was lucky enough to get the Game Boy, and boy oh boy was I fascinated by that thing. I started to get jealous, and wanted to play, but my older brother didn't let me. I don't blame him that much, it is a personal gaming device. But he was a bit greedy though with it and never let me touch it. So I complained and complained and then my dad took it away and gave it to me a while later, and soonafter I was hopelessly addicted to that Game Boy.
So back to your question, I think it's definitely fine that you're into video games. Look at the Nintendo Wii that came out. It appeals to such a wide spectrum of people. But in general you will observe that video games are seen more as a male entertainment - hence the many games that appeal to mainly males. But I think the concept of video games is something that has universal appeal.

Absolutely not. I like video games too. Even those that are supposed to be for boys only like God Of War, Resident Evil, Budokai, Kingdom Hearts, Burnout revenge, GranTurismo and what not. Keep it going. I play against my brother too and often he's so pissed off that he forbids me to play.

Actually, it is not. Like my sister, she likes to play Nintendo GameCube. But often people says that girls that plays video games looks like TOMBOY.(Hope I have not offended u=)). Even my cousin also play video games and PC games like Maplestory. So, as I say, it is not weird for girls to play video games. So don't worry, just keep on playing:):)
