Hey babe, try installing the software discs that came with the lappy. Or ....you could always go into control panel . . . open the system folder . . . find the sound devices and remove anything with a yellow question mark . . on reboot the system will search for the sound and should attempt to search the internet for compatible drivers. Good luck xx You could also try upgrading media player, if you have already done that, go back to the old one.

When you start the computer press the delete key to get into your bios. In there you can check your peripheral devices and turn on your sound card.

My experience is there always going to be a dll. file missing or corrupted on an illegal copy. Do you really believe Msoft does not know what they are doing. I am not sure of this next statement but It would not surprise me if MSoft is also involved in illegal sales as well. A lot of money is made in illegal sales.
