I'm Asian... and I think that I fit pretty well in with my school. I'm pretty sure it was just his alienated state and different state of mind that caused him to be left in the corner. I heard on the news that the other students started to move away from him because they thought he had a psychological disorder, and he did.

Do you even know what it feels like to be picked on because you don't share a certain similarity with a more popular culture? I don't mean the "popular" kids, but the kids in general who are already adapted into the American culture.
I personally have never been picked on, but watching them is really sad especially if there is no one to help. OF COURSE there is NO EXCUSE FOR WHAT HE DID! I'm not supporting him, but different people have different ways of handling situations. If some people are pushed to a certain point, who knows what will happen? Has anyone watched that one episode on One Tree Hill season 3? It is the one where that one kid gets picked on and ends up holding the school hostage.
People should definitely be more accepting and not making fun of their accents because that's accent discrimination (look it up on latimes.com) and be more accepting of them.
I feel sorry for Seung-Hui Cho. I think this could have been prevented if people accepted quiet people or anyone who doesn't seem to fit in. At least say "hi", "good morning/afternoon", "what's up" when you see them. BE FRIENDLY!!!! A smile and a friendly comment can go a long way.

It just goes to show if you or your kid calls some other weird kid names and be mean it can mean getting shot at later on. I'm sure you know the country became very polarized with Iraq, war on terror, post 911 issues...etc. I imagine same might be happening in schools from widening gap of rich and poor. Kids becoming more and more separated, polarized into groups just hating each other.
You figure we live in more tolerant sociey than when we had slavery, segregation, but lot of things indicate people can be very intolerant towards Muslims, fat people, ugly people...etc.
I think there are lot of tentions building up in lot of places. It's just matter of time we see another school shooting or another bombing attacks. All these tentions and angers won't just disappear. It'll go somewhere whether it be school shooting or plane crash.
It almost seem like there should be more shooting rampages, attacks with how things are going now, but I think it does show people are in general, not evil.

i dont feel bad for him too. i think it happens because he was just "loner".
Cho seung hui has no friends neither korean or american.
He was brought here from South Korea when he was very young, so really he is as American as anyone else. I certainly hope this does not cause some people to blame Asians for this. He was having problems with depression; a condition that affects many of us regardless of race.
CHO'S FAMILY POSTMAN SAID: cho was "superfine", it just fine and polite and it just break my heart. They were always smiles and polite when i delivered news paper to them. it make my heart lonely when this strategy happen.
FOX NEWS SAID: Cho's family was church going people and polite people.
POLICE SAID: it is just type of "loner".
DOCTOR SAID: He doesnt have a friend and he's just a loner.
South korean's feels shock and sadness, and some of koreans cried and feel heart full of sorrow.
I think He was having problems with depression; a condition that affects many of us regardless of race.

I agree getting picked on is not an excuse for murder, but sometimes I feel that American kids can be very cruel in treating other students that are not as popular, like shoving their heads into a locker, trash can and stuff. At least in Asia, from my experience, if You are seen as "different", your peers will just avoid you.
