"68 American Troops died in Iraq so far this April. Do we really put troops first?"
Yeah, on point...
Strange, how those who proclaim their "love" for our troops the loudest, are the very same ones who put the monkey-puppet in office that put them in harms way to begin with, pay them 1/12 of what they pay the contracted soldiers who comprise almost half of the REAL number of our forces on the ground in Iraq, and crap on the returning wounded by making them wait for months on end for treatment in moldy, rat-infested "hospitals".

Of course we care for our troops. They are brave men and woman who risk their lives each day for our freedom. Unfortunately we are at war and they will continue to die until we win and get the heck out of their.
Each of their lives is just as important as each of the students, however the situation was a bit different. Think for a minute you were climbing mt Everest, you are at a real tuff spot and your equipment doest work you fall off the mt. Now that's sad and your life is valuable but if you were just walking down the side walk and fell off a cliff, it would be more shocking. Who would expect a cliff to be there?
The point is that our brave troops know what they are facing when they go over seas. Now that doesn't mean that when their life is lost it doesn't count but its still part of the job. They are brave and take the chance to protect us. Those students, they didn't sign up for a shooting they were just attending classes.
You got to look at the context of the situation. Its a unfortunate event.

That is kind of hard question. Plus, the fact that if 33 died in Iraq in one day it wouldn't be all that unusual. We always see few of our soldiers die all the time. Events like this and worse have become daily routine in Iraq. Makes you wonder if we're losing our sense of human values in US troops. Lot of people say 'I support the troops' but what the hell does that mean really? I have no clue.

I think you make a great point about the flag being at half mast for things like VT when our troops are dying everyday.
And I'm not anti-war.

Yes. If the media would give us the actual news and show us the actual (or representative) coffins from preventable car accidents, we would soon quit driving. Wake up, the media couldn't care less how many American Soldiers die because they really don't care how many Americans die. For that matter, neither do most Americans. Being all about anti-war because we're losing Americans while ignoring the vastly greater number of Americans that die on our roads or are murdered every year, is selective idiocy at best. In reality, those who pretend to care about those deaths only use the dead to their political advantage. That's cheap. Why not care about all of them?

WE do. You are looking at the media. They go for Sensation and Shock. But almost every American I know is 100% behind our men and women. If you believe everything the media says, Hilary just got another vote.
God bless our troops and thanks for pointing out the low death rate. Our generation just hasn't had a true war to compare this one to. If people would do their homework, they would hopefully have a better understanding of this war and how well are men and women are protected. Casualties are going to happen, we have managed to reduce the amount exponentially.
Edit
I believe EVERYONE in congress, not just the "monkey puppet" voted for this war. Geez, do you forget that easy? Wait, you tell it like you want it to be. Not factually. I have to remember that so I don't waste my time responding to this dribble.

**Comming from a non educateted person like my self, I would
follow the wishes of my country (not blindly) but would follow orders, wishes,ect...And i want so much to beleave in how the
US of A betrays our over seas task. When you ask should we pit troops Frist. It makes me think that its time to let there
country men/women to start taking more and more lead actions! But as I look at the big pithier , yes we have to be Frist just to secure our troops safety, who can we really trust in that region, I would think just US really when it comes right down to it. just a thought from lil ol me that has an would again pick up arms as requested from my country. One last thing. I Thank all the US troops for fighting risking life for the wishes of our country

Yes. If the media would give us the actual news and show us the actual (or representative) flag draped coffins, Americans would cause such an uproar that we would soon leave Iraq. VT is a sad episode in our history. Iraq is an even sadder episode and should be brought to a conclusion. Write your Representatives and Senators in DC.
