Joe Morgan actually says a lot of stupid incoherent things and he is so boring to listen to because of his monotone voice. There will be stretches during live games where he doesn't even speak.
One of my favorites lines is from White Sox announcer Ken "The Hawk" Harrelson, "You can put it on the boooard....yes!" hahaha

The AM radio announcer (John Sterling) for the Yankees is the worst. When a homerun ball is hit,he says"It is high,it is far,it is goooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeee!" The problem is there are many times when he gets to the 'gone' part,he's wrong---anticipated the HR. So it's frustrating if you're listening without a visual aid and the call goes like this"It is high,it is far,it is CAUGHT AT THE WALL" One time the bases were loaded and a ball was hit, went through the whole thing following it up with "It's a grand slam...FOUL"

In ways I think hes not great but their is some truth is his testiment. Back when Morgan played Baseball in general was a different game. Ruth played in a whole different era than Jeter so i think its hardly fair to even compare them. Jeter is probably one of the top 10 modern day players but in Joe's mind and even in a lot of long time baseball fans all these records being broken are a result of 1 black hole in baseball's history. Steroids. Im not saying Jeter took steroids I pray to god we can have a few steroid free legends in the modern era. I.E Jeter, Pujols, so forth. I can see Joe Morgans few on this and I personally disagree. Congrats to Jeter but also let's pay respect to The Babe. When he played it was a pitchers era, Looking back you can see that 20 wins a year for a pitcher was the standard. I think we should not only applaud Jeter for his greatness but not forget Ruth and all the other former greats.

OK how bout " the ball bounce over the fence for a ground rule double."
Last time I checked if a fair batted ball left the field of play on a bounce it was a two base award (AKA rule book double). Ground rules apply to dugouts, bullpens, backstops etc.)

I absolutely, 100% guarantee that, if the bases are loaded in the late innings and the batter gets 3 balls, the announcer will say "there's no place to put him".

My favorite is how a guy will be like 2-20 and he will get one hit. then all of a sudden he's "broken out of his slump" fyi your only 3-21 now. it takes more than one hit to break a slump

The most "stupid" has to be a tie between
"That was foul tipped in the dirt" (that can't happen),
or
"Well, the hands are part of the bat!" (from an ex pitcher turned commentator)
