Angora goats or sheep... You would still need a place to provide a 3 sided shelter for these animals... as well as provide hay at all times since you won't have anything growing for them to eat BUT pine.
Goats are browsers like deer and not grazers like cows.

Goats and sheep won't cause erosion problems but they must also be kept safe from predators, so good fencing is a must...
