Ok I read your question dude, and it's totally confusing. Why do so many people act like "race mixing" culture mixing or whatever is something new in the USA? Especially when the majority of people here are of mixed heritage.
To Sphere: All "Hispanics" aren't white you know.
Cheers.

Narrow minded means rigid in thinking. I think you mean open minded. The US is a relatively young country. It is only 230 years old. We are not bound by thousands of years of culture and tradition as some countries are. It is a melting pot. There are people of all different races, religion and cultures. Honestly preserving a race is not a big worry of most Americans. The US was founded on freedoms. Freedom of religion, freedom of speech. People are not holed into a group. You interact with different cultures everyday. Although some people in the US stick with their own race, culture or religion, many feel that to stay within the confines is "narrow-minded". People are the same no matter what their race. The belief is that the heart is colorblind. If you fall in love with someone of a different race then so be it. Your heart doesn't know the difference.

You know, that's interesting you brought something like this up on the flip side. Most people feel like it should be okay. I agree with them, but I understand others when they say they want to marry/date within their own race. My main problem with interracial dating is people forgetting what race THEY are. Just because you are dating a white woman doesn't make you a white man (this is to my black brothers out there.) So disrespecting black women or referencing them as less than the white woman you are with is wrong and stupid. Because if the two of you don't work out, you are back to being a black man. You will never be good enough or better than a white man in her parents, grandparents nor society's eyes.
I don't mind people dating outside the race, it's just too many times they forget what race they are and feel like they are better because they achieved a "white" person. It's a hot mess. I think we should try to preserve some of our race because other races ARE doing it. Look at the Hispanics. They are now the majority minority in the US because they stuck together. Black people are rolling over trying to be so white we are not even trying to make our vote count. Politicians don't even think about the "black vote" like they used to, they are now appealing to the "latin vote." Crazy

Actually the U.S. is becoming increasingly multiracial. My high school was about 10% multiracial kids and still 60% white. The elementary schools in the town I live in have a lot higher rates of multiracial kids. People are marrying outside of their race because they're not letting preconceptions interfere with who they're attracted to and who they fall in love with. It's not about preserving or diluting race - race is just a made up term, obviously we're all the same race. It's a difference in dominant/recessive genes. But actually it's very normal for a German person to be more similar genetically to a Korean person than another German person.

In other countries it is frowned apon. You have this part correct. First of all, America is called the "Melting Pot" for a reason. All different races come from different countries. Their isn't suppost to be any racism or sexism at all, of course there is though. The USA supports interracial marriages and relationships are supported!!!!!
USA ISN'T NARROWMINDED FOR THIS!!! JEEZ. YOU ARE!

USA is composed of many different races itself. There is no specific "American" race. Almost everyday you interact with your community in the USA you will interact with ppl of other races. If there were a specific answer to your question, I would have to say that to many americans, race doesnt matter as much in a relationship as much because of our constant interaction with other races. We are starting to learn that it doesnt matter where you come from or what you look like, all people are created equal and should be judged on their own merit and not the color of their skin.

You are wrong. Americans aren't narrowminded in preserving a race.
The majority in America are still a White race and those White still are marrying within their own race.
But when you live in a diverse city, like a college town, you will find yourself surrounded by other cultures/races and one will find themselves attracted to that race for one reason or another and when you fall in love, there's no turning back.
Of late, it is true the numbers have increased of Whites and Hispanics marrying each other. But Hispanics are a white race.

"asians are very against marrying outside their relationships" - I think you mean "race".
And, here's the thing you don't get - Americans are the ones concerned most with interracial relationships. If the Asians you meet don't want to hook up with you, its because they aren't interested in red neck "Americans". Not because they want to preserve their "racial purity". Plenty of Asians marry Europeans, Australians etc...

Most people who live in the United States date and marry within their own races. I think it is very narrow minded of you to say that because people here choose to mind their own business by dating whomever they want, that they are narrow minded. If you want to "preserve your race" and encourage your children to do so, no one is stopping you.

Hybrid vigor. Marry someone from a different race and have better children because of less chance of recessive genes. It is why cousins should not marry.
