do you have to go barefoot for gym class? it's usually mandatory in the UK but usually not allowed in the U.S (weird, huh?). i was wondering where canada stood.

No.It goes against school policy.You must always wear running shoes at all times.

The only time you have to go barefoot in gym class is if you are wearing running shoes with black soles (it causes black scuff marks on the floor and it's hard to get off) or if we were learning how to do some gymnastics.
Otherwise, you have to wear your running shoes.

No we have to wear shoes with socks. Sometimes they let you go with no socks. But if you aren't wearing shoes you have to go barefoot or sit out. Normally they suggest sitting out.

I'm from the US but I have cousins that were raised in Canada. They wear socks and shoes for gym class but (in elementary) they took their shoes off for regular core classes next to their little cubby holes. I hope this helps answer your question.
