Does it make you sad?
Does it make you thankful your child doesnt have it ?
Do you treat them any different ?
Would you know the signs ?

Actually, my son is Autistic. I am not sad, I am happy he's heathly in every other way. I am thankfull that everyday he tells me Daddy, I love you over and over. I treat him like he is normal, B/C he is. He just looks at the world a little diffrently.

My sister in law is autistic. She does not have autism. Autismn is not a disease. It's a part of who she is as a person. She's not broken.
It doesn't make me sad, because there's nothing to be sad about. She's a great person, autistic or not.
It makes me thankful to know her.
I treat her no different than I would any other person. I just respect the fact that some things bother her that wouldn't bother other people and I try to be accomodating of that.
I know the signs and almost every displays some of them.

One of my professors in college has Asperger's Disorder. She was one of the best teachers I ever had. Her disorder was actually what made her able to focus on her subject with the kind of intensity others could never match.
