Are there any disadvantages or advantages between the two?

An undergraduate is someone pursuing his or her "college degree", usually a bachelor's degree (although those pursuing an associate's degree are also undergraduates). A graduate student is someone who has already completed a bachelor's degree and is pursuing an "advanced degree", such as a master's degree or doctorate. Thus, undergraduates are often younger and less expert than graduate students. Undergraduate studies are usually more directed, while graduate studies are often more self-directed (as an undergraduate, you are told exactly what to study and aren't expected to go beyond that, while graduate students are supposed to use assignments as a starting place for their own investigations).

An undergrad is someone who has yet to complete a post-secondary degree. A graduate student has an undergrad degree and is pursuing an MA, PhD, or post-doctoral work.

Since the two degrees are completely different, you cannot say there are advantages/disadvantages: you need one to do the other. Practically speaking, you're odds of getting a better job are much higher if you do your undergrad AND a graduate degree.
