i know, this is a really sad and depressing question, and i'm sorry, but it was just on my mind. when i was a girl scout, we had a troop leader who was 40 and diagnosed with cancer. it was the saddest thing. she had 2 months to live and we made her a quilt and when we gave it to her, she cried. just one of those moments i'll always remember...

how about you?

April tenth made five years since my ex hung himself and me and his mom found him....no matter how long I live......unless I become demented that memory will forever be burnt in my head. Thank God I have better memories of him to shadow that one out..at least for a moment.

I am in my 66 Th year & I have seen a lot of our friends die. We just lost a dear
friend of cancer. Another one has little time left. We lost our son in 1997; he would be 42 now. My precious Mom and I loved her very much. We were good friends. The list is so long and so painful. I know that this is the normal chain of events; but it doesn't take away the pain of losing a loved, one.

Well, unfortunately I have known quite a few people who have died. My first was my uncle who was murdered, but on that one I was still a baby and didn't remember him. The next one was when I was in kindergarten, my best friend was hit while sliding down a hill on her slide in the winter by a car (her brother survived). After that I've lost my 2 Aunts, one to cancer and one to a rare blood disease. I've lost all my grandparents. I 've lost 3 friends after high school, one to suicide, one to a motorcycle accident and one to brain death (after he took too many drugs). I've lost a nephew who only lived 2 weeks. My brother was killed by a drunk driver in 1992. Then 3 of my husband's grandparents died. So, unfortunately it seems like I have been surrounded by death. But I don't let it rule my life. I live my life as they would have wanted me too. Death is never easy to deal with, and everyone deals with it their own way. I have my faith, and that is what gets me through.

This is not exactly a human, but this dog was one of the best things I've had in my life. I had her since I was 5. She was the sweetest damn dog you could ever want. Everyone loved her, she greeted everyone in such a happy way. She would wag her tail so ferociously when anyone would come to the door, gate, or if she saw someone just walk by. She passed away from cancer, and it still upsets me. We had to put her to sleep. I miss that f'in dog. Three years and still hurting...

You will think I'm making this up but I lost my Dad, my best friend and two other friends from high school all in 1985! At Christmas my brother and I counted up all the deceased that we went to H.S. with and it was something like 46 people. 46 people who we knew who would not be over 45 yet. Incredible. Yes, I've known way to many.
