Yes. Becasue the Yankees are so overrated and the Red Sox and the Blue Jays are having better seasons. The Yanks need PITCHING. Something they should've got this offseason. You don't win on offense alone. Go look at the starting pitchers for the Red Sox and compare that to the Yankees. Pavano and Mussina are on the DL and Matsui.

No because they usually give it up to the Yanks during the stretch run. More so this year if they think that Schilling, Beckett, Wakefield are going to do it.
Schilling had one good year (2004), Beckett is a liability, Wakefield is just garbage. Dice-K seems to be the real deal, but he can be rattled on the mound and he shows it (never show that in MLB, never), also has shown up an umpire or two, not good either. Pitching will be the difference. To the person who posted Toronto, go back to Canada with an ignorant remark like that.

UPDATE:
Are you really sure that your starting pitching is the best in the league.......Schilling got abused by A-Rod, Beckett got slapped around, as well as Dice-K.
You have the nerve to mention Taveras and Wakefield.
Do yourself a favor and learn the game before you make idiotic comments like that. Best Starting pitching in the league belongs to......well we will see in September won't we.

The Sox have the best rotation in all of baseball right now, as well as the best closer. Their lineup is almost as good as NY but NY has no pitching other than Pettitte. Rivera is almost done and the bullpen is already overworked. I say Sox win the division, and I am not a Sox fan.

yes yes and yes we have something that the yankees dont STARTING PITCHING.we have schilling,beckett,dice-k and tim wakefield has been great so far and he,s a veteran.with our great offense and defense.of course its not gonna be easy becuz the yankees always seem to be right there.and the blue jays are another team that might be a challenge but take the devil rays and orioles out of it.
ps:yankees will be lucky if they dont finish third in the division behind the bluejays becuz the bluejays do have better starting pitching at the moment. GO REDSOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate the Yankees but I see them going. When they get their pitching back they will start playing the type of game that over recent years we have began to know as "Yankee Baseball"

i think so. there rotation is insane and they have a good lineup. not as good as the yankees but still top 5 i'd say. they probably also have the next big closer. plus the yankees rotation is in shambles. and why the hell are the yankees not calling up hughes i mean the kid is supposed to be awesome right?
