Well, I suppose that teachers have the right to say negative things about students in class. I mean that in theory, they do have the ability to say these things. However, that doesn't mean that it is the right thing to do. I am a teacher and I would never, ever say anything bad about a student in front of his/her peers. It is very unprofessional and it sets a bad example as to how to treat other people. If teachers do not behave properly, how are they going to teach their students to act properly?? If I was a student in a situation where a teacher was bad-mouthing a student in class, I would go to the office and talk to the principal. Students have the right to attend class without being harassed by anyone--including teachers.

Teachers have absolutely no right to talk about a student to the class. First of all anything that happens between a teacher and a student stays between a teacher and student. It is confidential information. Secondly, a teacher should not be discussing any information about another student as it could change opinions about the student, which is not fair to them. The teachers opinion could be biast and therefore could influence the fellow classmates opinion as well. Teachers have absolutely no right to discuss students with other students.

Unless a teacher is giving constructive critisism, they cannot say bad things about any student. I'm guessing since the person was not there, the teacher was just b*tching. This isn't acceptable in the classroom. If you feel uncomforatble, tell the teacher this. If they don't pay attention, tell another teacher you're comfortable talking to, possibly even bring it to the principal's attention siting this example.

That is actually not a very clear question. To "say bad things" is too broad. What did the teacher say. If the teacher said John Doe sucks, then they do NOT have the right to say that. If the teacher said, "If they miss much more I don't see how they can pass." then actually they do have the right to say so.
If you will tell us what was said, we can give you a much better idea of whether it was legal or not. Remember, there is a big difference between what can be said and what should be said.

ok, please retype your question cuz i don't undestand what you mean by "when that person is not school" but anyhow, no, teacher do not have the right to say bad things in front of the class. actually, teachers don't have the right to say bad things, period. especially if these "bad things" are regarding race, sex or other serious terms. teachers are teachers. they're job is to educate students, not to insult them. this can cause the teacher to lose his/her job.

ok, after reading another answerer's answer, i finally get what you mean. i think you meant if the student is not at school, right? well, first of all, it is not good to say negative things about a person who is not present to defend himself or herself. weather if this person is a teacher or not. but being a teacher and talking negative things about his or her student is violating school laws. no teacher has the right to say negative things about a student. there's my answer.

that is confusing to assert without being there. if your daughter is the backside in the class it could not be basically the instructor (the different scholars have the comparable instructor, regardless of each and every thing). definite, your daughter could do greater suitable with somebody else, yet she will additionally could manage people who're not suitable in her existence, so encouraging her to have a useful physique of ideas and do her superb is important. in case you supply her the message you do not anticipate her to do properly, she could stay right down to that low expectation. you would be able to desire to attempt a instruct in case you think of that is going to help. you incredibly could use your judgment right here. She could pick some greater time, fantastically for the reason that she is so youthful. interpreting together with her at domicile and training her addition and subtraction math information, etc. will additionally help. in case you're incredibly in contact that the instructor is screaming and not doing a sturdy activity, that is nice to to persevere and manage a meeting with the vital. refer to different mothers and fathers - that is in all probability they sense the comparable way. If the vital isn't efficient, that is nice to to attempt a various college. A instruct or summer season college may additionally help her to not commence next 365 days so some distance at the back of. Like I pronounced that is confusing to tell from right here...

No! I work next door to a teacher who shouts and screams and says all kinds of awful things. I have slammed my door to shut out the noise but she doesn't get it. Then she always comes into my room real nice to tell me how bed the kids are. I finally reported her but nothing happened until students started complaining to their parents and some parents got together to complain as a group.

No. Such students can be mildly advised but never scold or say in class for it is construed as contempt and breeds
violence and is harmful for teachers themselves in these times when the courts are watchful and critical of teachers.

Absolutely no right!!! They are the adult and even if a student says something to make them mad, they are supposed to have the training and experience to deal with it professionally. If they can't, they should find a new career.
