My only guess would be that in some parts of the country it's almost a social stigma to mention you don't want kids. The people that don't are so sick of answering why they don't want children, that they stop announcing it. They answer if people ask but otherwise let people make of their lack of children what they will.

Either way I hope you find other couples that share your interests and beliefs.

maybe they see what other married couples are going through or had gone through rising children. This kind of headache they're don't want to deal with these kind of problems of raising children.

maybe some just don't want kids base on their own childhood experience. I am sure they have their reason and we should respect it. Not everyone can be a descent parents, just look around you. You have kids that is out in the streets late at night, joining a gangs, don't have any respect for life, don't want to go to school and learn, and some are just selfish...again each to its own...etc...etc...

I hope this help you understand the reason why.....

Hmm... why not start a Yahoo group? My sister and her husband live in Pittsburgh, just celebrated 10 years, and are child-free by choice, and most likely to remain that way. It's true, probably 80% of married couples will have kids, and half of all of them divorce, and that should make the marrieds-without pretty scarce.. but you can scare them up if you try! Good luck.

It's probably where you are looking...

Try looking online there are several organizations of people who are choosing not to have children...

Look around the net I am sure you can find various like minded adults..

I noticed a few posters jump to the conclusion that not wanting children makes you selfish... I disagree... By admitting you do not want children and taking steps to prevent the creation there of (I assume you are), you and your spouse are making a conscious decision to not bring an unwanted child to the world ... By knowing what is in your hearts and minds you have avoided a situation that could (I am not saying would) be unhappy for both of you and therefore any child you would have...

That is not selfish... That is knowing yourself well enough to know for you child isn't what will complete you because you are already complete...

Bravo for knowing your own hearts and minds and making the right decision for you even if it isn't the popular decision...

I think most people who marry intent on having children and having a "family". Its still not acceptable to create a family out of wedlock so many marry inorder to do so. I think many of those who do not intend to have children do not feel mother nature's clock ticking as a sign of only being able to have the family they want for a certian amount of time.

Why do you want to find them?
If you don't want any, then you don't want any, whether others do or not.
