With just a bachelor's degree, you don't have very many options. You will find yourself frustrated in your job hunt and receiving offers from only low-paying jobs. With a degree in psychology, you should most definitely pursue graduate school. Think about what career path that you might wish to take, then decide which degree plan would be best for you. You could get a master's in psychology, counseling, counseling psychology, social work, or school psychology. With your master's, you will be able to get good-paying jobs in school districts, hospitals, mental health and state agencies. If you are in college now, start your graduate school hunt early. Begin RIGHT NOW requesting information about potential graduate programs, and learn about their admission requirements. Also, begin studying for any college entrance exams (like the GRE) that you would need. If you are unsure about which career path to take in psychology, contact some professionals and do some job shadowing. Hope this helps!

A Bachelors degree is rarely of any use unfortunately, however if you do pursue a Master's degree perhaps in counseling, you may find it to be a promising career. Overall, undergraduate degrees as well as graduate degrees in Psychology are not considered terminal degrees. Psychology is mainly a doctorate level field therefore, pursuing a Ph.D is your best bet. Best of luck.

Not a whole lot with just a BA, maybe social work or working for halfway houses, Defax, that kind of thing...
with a MA you can be a special ed teacher, private practice, work for hospitals, schools, etc
with a PhD you can be a professor, work all the places you can with an MA, work with MDs...
with an MD (psychiatrist) you are a doctor of the mind and can do things other doctors can (prescribe meds, see patients, work in hospitals, etc)

Good luck in whatever you choose (and just a hint, my MS Psych mother says EVERY psych student should know about both physical and learning disabilities to be succesful!)

Depends on the degree. BA you get to do scutt work and maybe after a while run some group sessions at a hosptial under supervision.

An MS you can eventually be a supervisor and after 5 years of OJT you can apply for your license to private practise and hang out a shingle

PH D you get to practise without supervision, run the place after 5 years of experience.

Psychologist or researcher if you get your graduate degree, psychiatrist if you go to medical school, and nothing in particular if you just have the undergraduate degree. I'm getting my degree in psychology but I plan to go to law school next.

i'm in eire, so i don't recognize a lot about the substantial/ minor structure that you've contained in the U. S. yet sociology ought to supplement psychology ( that's the learn of society). Its large you're searching at conceivable recommendations now, it gives you time to ascertain extra and make up your recommendations. once you've a occupation or practise instructor at your college, you need to pop in to ascertain them, they could have a large number of techniques on careers. also inspect college/college web pages, they could have information on occupation paths too. if you're a human beings man or woman and are inquisitive about how the recommendations works then psychology can be a sturdy determination for you. I dunno about police investigator (possibly police representative) yet some pastime possibilities that i recognize of contain academic Psychologist (helping children with getting to recognize issues) Play Therapist ( exploring and helping children with emotional issues via play ) medical Psychologist (operating with adults who've emotional problems, differs from a psychiatrist as they do no longer prescribe drugs) Cognitive Behavioral Therapist ( helping human beings replace their attitude and behaviour ) All of those jobs will require further learn, you're able to have a large number of different recommendations too, even sport psychology, promotion and promotion, consultancy, academic study, social paintings. so as you're not any more upset even with the actuality that, i will inform you in boost- Psychology does no longer have each and each of the solutions to human habit, yet gives you different theories/techniques and proposals for a way the recommendations works and persons's habit frequently. The conclusions are drawn in conserving with study, study and experiments. you'll not in any respect take care of to inform if a man or woman man or woman is mendacity in conserving with interpreting psychology, yet you need to change into extra attentive to sorts of habit. body language will be explored -yet I actually have realized about body language in practise targeted on communique and own progression, no longer psychology. You wont inevitably do a lot about it in a psychology undergraduate degree, you need to do your own study learn if you're doing a masters degree. i do not imagine you'll are available the course of a lot dream interpretation , yet you'll study about the subconscious recommendations and what takes position once you sleep. you need to seem on the techniques of a few psychologists who had techniques about symbolism in desires like Freud.
