What you're describing is a situation that matches a person's previous conceptions of happiness so much that it makes them uneasy, and rightfully so. Genuine happiness does not manifest as a "match" to a person's preconceived notion; it manifests as a fresh and peaceful contentment -- so balanced that the person is very relaxed and free of anxiety. It is called "enlightenment" and we are all on our way to achieving it. You can help it along with meditation and mindful behavior. When you get a taste of it, yes, you may feel that it is something precious and fleeting, but at a certain point it starts to dawn on you that even when you screw it up and it slips away, you get to keep the lesson of how it slipped away, and when it comes back (and it will, with greater frequency), you get reassured that it is not really going away, but it is coming closer. You are gradually, gradually, zeroing in on it, and even your mistakes are part of the process. Now go meditate, as I am going to do.

If you're thinking in that "sort of" paranoiac way I would suggest that it is NOT a "state of perfect happiness" at all because it is flawed by that thinking. In the perfect state there would be nothing to trigger the anxiety.

Not at all. Whenever I get a taste of perfect happiness I know it's because of karma. What goes around comes around, and not everything has to have a bad ending.

Any situation, even happy ones can evoke stress or anxiety. People have the misconception that only negative events have a negative impact on us, but positive events or situations can impact us negatively as well.

We grow by struggling. No struggle no growth. Man cannot be stagnent.. It is our blessing and our curse.

I know it would for me. I would be too paranoid to enjoy any of it.
