An elevated BBT is a positive sign...if it stays elevated until your period is due there's a good possibility you are pregnant. Remember, though, that charting your BBT is not the be-all, end all.
Everything sounds good so far, but really, the best thing is to sit tight and wait until you can take a test. Wait until the day before your period is due or the day of...the results will be more accurate.
Good luck, I hope you're preggie!!

Do you mean your BBT range is 97-97.6 PRE-OV and now it's 98.7-99 POST OV? I presume you've been charting for mroe than one month as you said "its normally" in this range.
Or is it normally 97-97.6 POST OV and now its 98.7-99 post ov???? If so, that's quite a jump - I only go up by one degree.
Have a look to see if you have a third rise in temps (triphasic) after the time of implantation which is when you get a second rise - this is a good sign but (there's always a but with pregnancy sorry!!!!) not a definite one.
Either way, you sure do produce a lot of progesterone to get such good temp increases - could be a great sign!

Dr's often say that taking your body basal temperature is not the most reliable method - especially if you have PCOS or other infertility issues - however if you have a normal cycle temperature charting can be very useful as long as other methods (cervical mucus) is also charted so results can be correlated. If you are sure that you ovulated at or near the time you had intercourse and your BBT has remained high past the day your period was due then there is a proablility that you could be pregnant - good luck!!

I just talked about this with my Dr on Tues. You will stay at a higher temp (pregnant or not) until a day before or the day your period starts. If your period starts and you are still high that is a good sign. The higher temps will continue through the first few weeks of pregnancy and then will drop off. Good Luck!!

If your temperature remains high for eighteen days after ovulation, this could be an indication of pregnancy. You may also see a third rise in temperature occuring about seven to ten days after ovulaton. This is called a triphasic chart. Sometimes this can be a seen with pregnancy but it is not a definite sign. Women can have triphasic charts and not be pregnant.

Not necessarily. Your temperature will stay elevated from the time of ovulation until the beginning of your next menstral cycle. Since you're still a few days before the start of your next expected period your temperature will stay elevated regardless of pregnancy. However, if it stays up the day that you expect your period rather than going back down it could definitely mean that you're pregnant.

i agree with the 18 days. I have also read that if your BBT stays up 18 days past ovulation, then that is a good sign that you are pregnant. Good Luck to you! :)
