In less than a year I am turning 18, and might be getting a new car for my birthday. I've been really looking at the Subaru WRX TR Sedan, because the STi is way too expensive. But I have also been looking at the VW GTI. There stats seem pretty much the same except the WRX TR has 24 more HP. In your opinion, what is the better car?

Our police force bought subaru's and they caught plenty with them they are good reliable and speedy.~~

man from personal experiences I would go with the VW for the simple fact that they are reliable and don't appear too chincey on the interior. The subaru on the other hand has very "good" looks. If you really can appreciate the rally racer look. Your choice man. Both are excellent choices. But it sounds like mom and dad have the real final say so, make a wise and fair decision. good luck.

stay away from both of those car. the subaru is a subaru and those things break down almost constantly i know my family has been in the car business for going on 15 years and i hear nothing but horror stories out os subaru's. the Vw is a mechanically sound car, but when it does break, and it will get ready to sell a kidney becasue they are expensive to fix. and depending on your locattion it may be hard to find someone to service them i live in east texas and the nearest VW or Subaru is like 100 miles away.
i would rather see you get a civic SI becasue it is in the same price range, better performance, better quality, its a better car, plus it looks better

VW hasn't made a good car in 10 years. They're just now starting to be reliable.
Subaru has been making GREAT cars forever. the WRX is fast, reliable, and proven.

well my friend if your getting a new car a just a plain subaru cheappy will do the job but if it`s hp you`re looking for, BY ALL MEANS FORGET AN IMOPRT GET A GM SMALL BLOCK CAR there cheap and parts are cheap and very easy to work on!!! oh and you can always build the crap outta them!

Subarus will run forever, but will also squeak and rattle just as long...........GTI will run forever, but won't look as good as a Subaru. they are both equals in my book
