Instead of using it as a starting point for introspection and thinking how America could become a better country, people get all up in arms and say "Leave the country, we don't want you".

Are people so intellectually lazy that they can't think of a rebuttal for the person's claims and just opt for the less mentally taxing road of saying "Get out"?

I think you are misreading some of these.

From what I have seen many people rant and rave, insult the President, the US, the citizens, our soldiers, Mom's Apple Pie and Uncle Sam and do it all with a lot of venom and vulgarity. These folks are rabble rouser and hate mongers and I agree, maybe they should just leave, I think we would all be better off.

This is not the same as intelligently expressing your opinion on a policy.

Because they're either uneducated or have forgotten that this Country is for the people by the people.Do the SAME truths not still hold TRUE? It is We the people still isn't it? Or has the Patriot Act or some other amendment changed that to?

I will try to explain, though I doubt you will even bother to read this entire post.

I hear the phrase used more often than I care myself. I use it, when I have had enough...from someone who refuses to provide source and fact to back their point of view.

To simply spew your opinion, then expect "everyone" to simply accept it, is crazy! Why not use an equally insane comment to respond with.

It's not that I want anyone to leave. I just refuse to cow-tow to the spin. When I've had enough...then I just say...Leave it if you don't like it.

And why not?? The other person CONTINUES to sit and spew the nothingness. Even when they have been proven wrong, in most cases.

It's not intellectual laziness on my part. It's intellectual weariness. I refuse to be worn down by the dumb@$$es of this country.

No. It depends on how you present your ideals. Have a bit of common sense. If you're in the deep South, don't try to get into debates where you present a liberal point of view. Especially if you're a minority, there's lots of swamp. The extreme right who are militantly anti-immigration don't speak for the whole country. If you say you hate America, than that's another issue altogehter. At that point you can't show anti-American sentiment and then expect people in AMERICA to support that.

I love a healthy debate, and under no circumstances would I tell someone to "get out" of the country if they dissent from my opinions. I think it is contrary to American principles to do so. Our country was FOUNDED on political dissent and a desire to freely express your opinions regardless of which way you might lean. So sad for those that claim to be patriots, yet belie the principles that pariotism represents.

I only say that to people who claim to hate America or think it's not the best place in the world.

For the second part, I merely say it because they don't realize that we have it easy even compared to other industrialized countries.

Yes, people on both sides of the political aisle are that intellectually lazy and incompetent. It is kind of sad really.

We just want you to leave if your going to spend every waking hour of your life slandering the country, which coincidentally is practiced by most liberals.

I prefer to keep them around to use as dog food in case there is another recall.
