Well, with your makeup - I'm assuming you're doing it yourself?

Have at the ready:
-Good moisturizer
-Good foundation (I use CoverGirl)
-Concealer
-Black eyeliner pencil
-Eyebrow pencil (that compliments your hair)
-(Dry) Creamy colored eye shadow
-Eye shadow that matches your dress
-Blush (preferably of a cream consistency. I like the Maybelline Dream Mousse)
-Bronzer

Lol, that's alot, though you've probably already got most of it.

1. If you have pretty good skin, mix some moisturizer and foundation 50/50 in your palm, rub it in your fingertips and massage into your face. Gently massaging your face before applying makeup brings out your natural skin tones and colors, meaning you don't have to use as much makeup.

2. Wait a few minutes for the moisturizer to plumpen your skin.

3. Apply the creamy colored eyeshadow lightly from your upper lash line to your brows. This will open your eye area.

4. Apply the dress colored eyeshadow along your upper and lower lash lines, framing your eyes in 'funky' color!

5. Apply the black eyeliner on your *inner* upper and outer lash lines. This will add definition.

6. Carefully apply 2 coats of mascara. Avoid getting black spots on your carefully applied eyeshadow. If this happens, use a q-tip to remove the spot(s).

7. While your mascara dries, dab some concealer on any spots or discolorations on the rest of your face. Blend.

8. Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. (The part of your cheeks that plumpen and move when you smile). Avoid going OTT with the blush, you don't want to clash with your bright eyeshadow.

9. Look at any spots you dabbed concealer upon in step 7. If there are any slight discolorations remaning, smooth them out with a little of the creamy colored eyeshadow. This works a treat.

10. Apply a small amount of bronzer to your face, paying attention to your forehead, chin and temples.

11. Neaten your eyebrows with a toothbrush. Color in lightly with the eyebrow pencil.

Anyway the result should be a beautiful, funky you! If you decide to use my 'guide', practice it - perhaps you're going to a party in the next few weeks?

As for your hair. Anything goes. Really. Personally I don't like prom/formal updo's. They look like a plastic hat and generally .. suck. Your makeup will already make a statement, so don't fight that with your hair. Have nice soft curls, some crimping, poker straight - your hair is your oyster.

Good luck! And have fun!
