you know that all cars thats made overcease from USA is more better manufactured and everything...but Japanese cars seems like its just alot of snap on parts thats snapped on well done..but is cheap and can break easily from manhandling. But German cars(Mercedes) seems to be more tougher than Japanese cars..like built with heavy duty parts. Why does it seems like Mercedes is just alays a foot step higher than Lexus

Actually, I think you are wrong. No doubt Mercedes is a beautiful car, but unfortunately, as far as quality of assembly goes it can't compare to the quality of a Lexus. My cousin is an attorney specializing in lemon law. Basically he helps people to get compensated if their new car breaks too often. He, says that it is simply unbelievable how many Mercedes Benz clients he has. They are filled with electronics and all sorts of gizmos, and there is always something wrong. Some lite goes on warning of some malfunction or some knob stops working properly or something else. There is always something. On the other hand he hardly ever gets a Lexus or any other Toyota clients. By the way, the same goes for BMW, they are wonderful and sexy and so on, but man are those little problems annoying, and they happen often. It seems they just can't put it together and make sure it works reliably. So, the talk of better materials is cheap if assembly is not precise. And nowadays, no one can compare to the quality of Toyota and Honda cars. I have been debating purchasing a new car for year now and the only reason I've been delaying is that I love Mercedes S550 and BMW 750 compared to Lexus LS460, but the quality is so much lower that I know I will not enjoy it if I have to go to see a dealer every 3-6 months. Luxury car should be perfectly reliable and this is simply not the case with German manufacturers of a modern day.

i own a repair shop ,and as long as i can remember Mercedes has always tried to keep the quality of there cars up as high as possible, that's whats separating them right now from the cheaper cars, one thing i will say for the German built cars they don't use a lot of snap on parts ,they believe that things should be solid,as for the other makers they want to sell more cars ,there not as concerned with quality as much as Mercedes are,and this will always separate them from the rest ,good luck with it hope this helps.

I think that is your perception. They are both fine autos. Mercedes (the newer ones) use better metals and may spend more on R&D. Lexus is a fine auto as well.
