It depends on the criminal background. Did he/she get a ticket for not wearing a motorcycle helmet - then, yeah - the politician should be able to be in an election. If the prospect say murdered, raped, stold, etc. - then absolutely not. Hasn't this country had enough crime in the White House?

There exists no Degree,Diploma or certificate course to become a Politician in India. A criminal is he who breaks the laws of the land. A socalled politician does not enjoy any privilege to be exempted from being convicted and punished as per laws. But who will bell the cat ? Criminals are ruling our country - some directly and some indirectly. Persons like AV Bajpayee,Advani,Arun Jethly,Susama Swaraj etc. had to succumb to that system during their regime also. Hence, only a movement organised, alike, by late Sri Jayprokash Narayan, could help the country. Hats off to our Country's great politicians !!!

i say no (not something against every physique with a offender background of course). as a results of fact regardless of in case you have all f the needed traits, there is probably somebody accessible that has the right comparable traits as you yet did not wreck a regulation. i'm not a offender...the worst element i've got ever executed is wreck the fee shrink. so why would desire to joe blow the felon have the comparable excellent that i do to run in an election, if he will not be able to even save from breaking regulations? (nevertheless, some american politicians have executed a lot worse than wreck a pair of stupid regulations....haha...)

A politician with a criminal background should not be allowed to stand in a election because we can't expect him to do anything good for the society. It will be very difficult to rely on that person who has such history of involvement in crime.

no because regular people that have a criminal record cant get a job unless they get a parton from the state at that is a long process. so why should they get special treatment.most employers go good paying jobs do a back round check if they find that you have a criminal record they try to find a reason to fire you

They already do stand in an election. Most politicians are criminals, they simply have not been convicted.

Because all decisions that person makes will be dependent on past experiences. And if the experience is illegal, then his decisions will also be flawed.

If it's a misdemeanor, hey whatever. A felony = NO WAY.
Pure logic. That's why.
