It depends.
Now, for many guys, "romance" is a euphemism for "sex", so "American beauty" is a romance film (as we see sex), but "Sleepless in Seattle" is not (no sex).
However, if I can see a real romance film that isn't too sappy and realistically portrays what goes on in a romance, it can be very effective.
My three favorite romance films are "The Notebook", "Shakespeare in Love" and "The Little Mermaid".
I can be a sentimental sap, OK?

If it's got a good story, then it's a good movie. If it's an intelligent movie, then it's a good movie. Some good examples of romance movies are When Harry Met Sally, You've Got Mail and So I Married An Axe Murderer. Unlikely movies that I really enjoyed. I'm sick of movies that try to make themselves goofy romantic comedies because ultimately, it feels like it's a movie that's just posturing.

I'll watch pretty much anything, but if I'm going to watch a romance movie it has to have a good/great story or a reasonably attractive actress in it. Examples would be The Notebook, Serendipity, Titanic, etc.

I'm not a big romantic movie watcher, but I do have a few that stick in my mind...Only the Lonely with John Candy and Ally Sheedy; French Kiss; A Walk in the Clouds; and Fools Rush In.

Don't mind them at all. Love a lot of them in fact. Sometimes too much testosterone gets to me, and I need something to calm down on. I don't like all of them though as there are some stupid movies out there. Some of my favorites would include titanic, Pretty woman, when harry met sally, sleepless in seattle...etc.

They are a necessary part of life. Without them, horror and murder movies would eat our brains and unbalance the fragile harmony that exists within the universe.

usually not much.
and they are definitely not something to pay to see at the show. if i watch them, i wait for them to come on cable. there is nothing about them that makes me want to see them on the big screen.
i think the best one i have seen is four weddings and a funeral, followed by notting hill. but, again, i don't see a lot of them.

Only if its well made, take Titanic for example. If its stupid like How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days or something else like that, than no thanks.
