I usually hate these types of gatherings because everyone is so fake and pretentious. I don't try to annoy or impress. I am just myself until the dreadful night is over. My husband and I usually have lots of laughs afterwards making fun of all the fake people.

I am so happy that I don't have to go to those things anymore. God, I hated those things. My wife,(then) was in charge of all the arrangements, so I was always stuck with some other husband who hated them even more than me. No more Christmas parties and rented Tuxedos. We divorced 5 years ago, and I am free from the BS parties.

I wait until my wife is talking to a group of her work colleagues and then call out across the room "Darling - it's time to change your nappy!"

my husbands company has a family picnic each year. i won't go. most of the guys he works with are jerks. i don't even want to associate with them let alone use any energy to annoy or impress them.

I just be myself. I dont try to stand out, but i dont act like i am invisible. I just dont want to do anything to embarass my partner.
