Hello. I'm a high school senior in an Organic Chemistry class and I need some help with the following problem:
Name and draw the possible products of the Aldol condensation of 1-chloro-3-pentanone. There are two. Show the two keto-enol tautomers of 1-chloro-3-pentanone.

So, there are 2 alpha hydrogen sources on the pentanone and either could be deprotonated by the base. The resulting aldol products are from either participating in an aldol reaction.

That said, I would expect the reaction to proceed by SN2 chemistry much faster, with that beta chloride being displaced.

That would require tools for drawing arrows and bonds which are not available here.
