Like when you start to understand the structure. I have to listen to a song at least 3 times on average to fully understand the meaning of it.

Depends on the length and density.
some crappy rap song i can get in one listen but for some more sophisticated music such as Echoes by Pink Floyd it took me over a hundred times all the way through (16 minute song) to get every bit of the structures highs and lows. Then dont get me started on marathon songs like Thick as a Brick.

I can usually understand a song by the first time I hear it. But I don't know the words or how I feel about it until I hear it many more times.
