The gunman apparently had two semi automatic hand guns. Obviously he had to reload every time he ran out of ammo. Also the guns were semi automatic, there are no automatic handguns. My question is, how he managed to kill all those people, it makes no sense. Where was the police in this situation? Why didn’t any of the male students or professors rush the gunman in an attempt to subdue him? I know I wasn’t there and I’m not judging anyone, but I just don’t fell one person should ever be capable of taking so many lives in that duration.

There's alot we still don't understand and frankly, I'm tired of hearing about this guys whole life. The signs were there from day one. It's these privacy laws, you can't do this this or that. This guy was clearly a mental case, but the sad part is, unless you hurt someone, there's nothing anyone can do about it and then it's too late. How can you admit you need help when you can't even reason between right or wrong? He talked like a person who was definately possessed. How did he kill all those people? When you have as much anger and rage as he did, using 2 handguns with so many shots on a clip, he could have mowed down the whole class. The kids blocked the door and he still broke in. Would you rush someone running towards you with 2 guns?? Alot of the students said they heard him reloading and clips falling to the floor. You can't say what you would do in that type of situation. I'm not one to say what should have been done and I don't really know how the police force handled it from the beginning. You do the best that you can do in that type of situation. My heart and prayers go out to all the students and families who have lost a loved one.

The shame is nobody else had a gun or a weapon of any kind, one professor did put himself between the gunman and his students he died. Pure panic from being in a complete foreign situation is how he got the upper hand. he had the control everybody else had fear.
Tragic is the only real thought that comes to my mind. It's too easy to arm chair quarterback after the fact. It doesn't change anything. What ifs are just what the are what ifs. When somebody that sick has as strong a desire to do evil the way he did, well a normal rational person can't stop him. In today's world you have to be prepared or at least understand that you can find yourself in these types of situations. Even then there's not much you can do. The media talked about all the warning signs this guy gave off. Well when you really think about it we all know somebody that's acted or had some of the same traits as this killer had.
How do you put all these isolated incidents together and come up with a mass murderer. Its very difficult if not impossible to get it right every time. One tiny needle in one huge haystack. Its just another sign of the times.

My brother and I were both talking about that, he heard or said two people died and still they didn't close down the school I was like what the hell? I feel bad for the victims and their families, I was wondering what was going on with the school at the time too, but I wasn't there so I am trying to be judgmental either. So many school shootings have been happening lately in the past 10 years its so sad this Virgina tech situation is the worst things since columbine high which happened 8 years ago today. I know teachers do the best they can to prevent shootings but it doesn't seem like enough (obviously) I just wish it would all stop we have enough war going around in this world with out turning on one another, But anyway I agree with you and wonder the same thing

I don't want to think about it.... its a horrible thing to think about.

The guns he had did the job they were designed to do, kill people. Unfortunately we live in a society where anybody can just walk into a gun shop and pick up a weapon as deadly as a glock. The really sad part of this is nothing is going to be done to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future. No one in washington wants to talk about gun control, the gun lobby has the whole mess of them in their pockets.
