That's a very good question, I wouldn't say 'stupid question'....
One thing I can think of is not to get their hair wet, out of fear of catching a 'cold'. Another would be to avoid messing up their hair-do.
For me, I can't stand it when rain drops in the back of my bare neck, I would SHIVER, as if my body tempreture shifted from being warm to feeling very chilly & feel like I am coming down with a cold.
And oh, would it be possible that rain carries some kind of acid rain, chemicals coming from the sky where planes are flown around.

I don't know why they do that. I hate being rained on though so maybe that has something to do with it.
Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part when I'm running and ducking down in the rain? (Wishing I could avoid it without having to drag an umbrella around everywhere I go that day....)

I do it to try to keep the rain off my glasses. If I don't have them on, I don't bother to duck.
Mythbusters did a show on rain, and if you run, you actually get more wet. I thought that was kinda interesting.

Excellent question! I find it funny too. I love the rain, so I actually look up to have it in my face. People ducking from it are missing all the fun. They'll be wet anyway so why hide from it?

It's not rain, it's bird poop. Of course it still hits you but wouldn't you rather get like ur back or neck covered in bird poop or rain than dripping down your fac and all over your head?

it's more about the rain not getting in your eyes so when you need to see you are still dry in your facial area! at least that is why i do it. and the the other thing is for all the prepy woman out there there make-up will get ruined are you kidding....lol
