Great question...STAR.... I have always detested form getting greater importance than content.
Is it possible that we give more importance to form than content because we appreciate form physically, through our sensory organs? At the end of it all, may be, we are more easily and perceptibly influenced physically rather than mentally or spiritually.... and being the hypocrites we are, we want to feel more matured by assuming as though the gist or the marrow is of higher order relevance, so that when we are actually yielding to the physical, we make up supporting logic based on higher order issues.

Have you LOOKED at Albert Einstein? The world is based on innovators whose ideas impact the good looking, personas. The only reason you don't know this is the innovators usually stay anonymous or jsut underappreciated. Without the innovators, the attractive people would have no good ideas, and society would stagnate and crumble.

Its talked about endlessly. Young girls in the Middle East being force-fed to become morbidly obese because that's their definition of beauty. Models in Brazil and Italy being banned from the runway due to anorexia because of a drasically different ideal of beauty. Airbrushing images on magazine covers to make the people look more perfect. If you've never heard it talked about then you haven't been listening.

Why don't we talk about it? Because it is primarily a function of genetics. We are naturally attracted to healthy-looking, strong, leader types. We prefer them because they have 'good genes'.
So what are 'good genes' good for? Well, MATING, of course.
Do you commonly acknowledge to people that you would prefer to mate with them because you like their genes? That would be kind of weird, wouldn't it?
And yet, that's why good-looking people are promoted and paid better and become leaders.
But no one states the obvious.
