Now people will realize why i hate being American, I was not there and i do not want to see this moran on the tv. Yes he was picked on as a child and a teenager, so was i but guess what, i did not murder anyone i still love everybody rich, poor, smart, stupid, dumb or whatever. I cant stand the media they cause majority of the murders that happen. They put the thought in peoples heads.....Such and such killed this way and then they tell you how. I was bullied in school and i would never take that action. What do you think?

Well i see some people do not realize that when that happened in Virginia it was on every channel so changing the channel was no help. I am not blaming the media i just think they add fuel to the fire and it hurts more than it helps and they should have some consideration for the victims, as far as me saying i am sick of America and so forth i just believe we take advantage of too many situations to the point where we become inconsiderate and numb to other peoples feelings i am proud of who i am, i just think that we should show a little more compasssion for people and not take peoples issues and put prices on them like the media does, and the magazines, and the newspapers,etc........
I am not saying we should not expose these issues for what they are but we should have a heart and imagine that we were one of the survivers and had to deal with the torture of not being able to do anything with eyes open because his face is plastered all over every newspaper and television.....

Some people don't deal with hardships as well as others. I was picked on too, and I never got violent either. But I can see how someone who is less stable might feel the need to lash out. I think it says something about our society, and how easy it is to be ostracized from it. Just from watching the reactions to the killer's video, I felt the media telling me that if you aren't real talkative and outgoing, there is something wrong with you. If you are quiet and shy, you too, might be the kind of person who secretly harbors a wish to kill people. Disgusting.

Obviously, the media is interested in making $$$, and they have succeeded in that by showing the video. They stopped showing it when people got disgusted and turned them off. That's just one of the realities that we have to live with when there is a free press. It's capitalism as its finest. You don't like it, go to a country where they censor the news.

There does seem to be a spike in related incidents when this kind of thing comes out. I tbink it just sparks people who have had it in their head all along to just do it.

I agree with you that the media reports on an issue until people go mad hearing about it. The problem is people who watch the shows, call in to radio shows, and the like fuel the fire. The media gives the people what it thinks the people want.

As far as being an Anerican, remember you have your opinioni because you are an American. Many things we in society say cannot be viewed in other areas of the world. Its a right to be free, however not everyone has that right.

The media does not cause the murders, people who commit them do. Don't pass the blame or the responsibility on to others. We need to take responsibility for our own actions. Clearly this man was messed up, its not the medias fault.

This probably just fuels your fire more, which was not my intention, but if you do not like what the media is doing, CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!!!!!

I'm glad that you wouldn't take that action. I'm sure the majority of the public would not take that action. With that being said, I don't see the problem with his face being on the TV. How long after 9/11 were the hijackers faces on TV? What about Bin Laden? It's normal. As for the media being to blame for this situation, I don't buy that. During the Columbine situation, people tried to blame musicians for the shootings. Everyone is always trying to blame something else, but the truth is that these people are disturbed individuals to begin with and those in their orbit chose to ignore the signs.

"I cant stand the media they cause majority of the murders that happen"

Did the news reporters go out and start shooting people? NO the are mearly reporting the news because people want to know. If you don't like the news, there is a button on the TV it says "ON/OFF", use it, or just turn it to cartoons and watch that violence instead.

"Now people will realize why i hate being American"...then leave

"i do not want to see this moran on the tv"...turn it off

I am sick of seeing his face also. Criminals get more coverage than heroes do. Lets see some heroes splashed across the TV for a change.

I'm getting to the point where I just turn away from it. It makes me worry if it will inspire copy cat killings like the one at NASA today.

yeah, how dare they inform us about what's happening on a daily basis! we should be kept totally in the dark. after all, ignorance is bliss, right? plus, you're absolutely right: people wouldn't kill each other if they didn't see it in the media. it's common knowledge that WWI was primarily caused by the Germans watching too much TV.

and this crap about the VT gunner being "mentally unstable"? bah! i don't believe in mental instability. after all, if YOU wouldn't kill someone, i see no reason for anyone else to. you're obviously in a much worse position than the killer was, and you had AT LEAST as many obstacles to overcome in your life. "mentally unstable"...what kind of rubbish is this? that's probably just a rumour that was spread through the media by the Jews, who are historically known for making things up to make people worried -- things like "The Holocaust", "Global Warming", and "Terrorism". yeah...right. my momma didn't raise no damn fool.

What do you want them to do? Just pretend like it didnt happen? Pretend like 32 people who were just trying to get an education wererent shot? It's the media's job to report the news and this is the biggest story of the year right now.

There are buttons on your remote that either change the channels or turn off the tv. Use them. If you don't have a remote, there should be buttons on the front of your tv. If you hate being American, why are you here?

I think it's kind of sad because he was really messed up, and I don't think it was his fault. So I feel bad for him, like I could've done something even though I live nowhere near there.
