i have this old beater car that i have been trying to get rid of forever.... it runs alright and looks alright, and i am only asking $500 for it, i've had it in the paper for 2 weeks now and people call about it all the time, but nobody has ever came out to see it!
I am honest about the shape its in when people call, is that what i am doing wrong?
any ideas (besides ebay, i don't wanna go that route) that can help me onload this piece of crap on some unsuspecting person?

Now, what you have to do is generate an interest in the piece of cra...sorry.. car. Spread some rumors that it has a history. A very interesting history. Ooooo. Like haunted? Or maybe the back seat is a sure fire babe magnet, and well broken in (Talk to your mom about that. She may have pictures)?
Ask $8,000 for it. But settle for $5,000.

I gotta tell you how we wound up finally selling an old wreck! We had it parked on the front lawn,entirely pi$$ing off our snooty neighbors, with a sign on it.. "50 bucks or best offer." No takers. Put the price up to $500 and it was gone in a day, an old '69 Dodge Polaris!! hehehehe!

When people call, explain to them that you're not an expert on cars and invite them to see for themselves. Maybe throw in some of those Peanut Butter Raisin Cookies you just baked...

donate it to the boys club of America
they will give you a tax receipt for 800 bucks that should give you about all the money you wanted, and it will make you feel great, other than that get it insured and have your bud steal it and burn it up or tear it apart.
