Refer to the film Grease, that is exactly how the styles were, make-up, hair and wardrobe. Have fun!

Makeup of the 1950's had a look all of its own, and it seems to pop up again and again.
Here's How:
1. Obviously a lot of emphasis was devoted to the eyes. Here are a few ideas that you can play with.
2. Eye Shadows: These were quite muted in most cases. Popular colors included grays and browns but for evenings, you could spot sapphires, golds, greens and blues.
3. Eye Shadows for Evening: As I mentioned above, at night, the rich colors came out. It was quite common to apply a rich blue with a silver layer of shadow on top.
4. Eye Liner: This was black of course with what was known as a wing at the outer corner of the eye.
5. Brows: Very heavily shades and the brows during this time period were much thicker than the brows we are seeing today.
6. Mascara: Popular colors during the 50's included black, brown and blue.
Tips:
The brows were darkened using brown and black pencils and from the look of the brows during this decade, they went through a lot of them.
Shadows were formulated in creme and cake textures.

i began donning complete on makeup at around your age, and no-one concept i appeared trashy or too plenty, because of the fact i learnt a thank you to coach it nicely. in the beginning, in case you have sturdy epidermis, only placed on a tinted moisturiser instead of beginning place. it is plenty greater useful to your epidermis and seems much less cakey. you will locate many sturdy ones at your interior of sight objective or walmart. purely placed on concealer on blemishes, zits or under eye circles, and confirm it fits your skintone, or you're able to be able to desire to look strange. a sturdy, affordable form is rimmel or maybelline. Use face powder that fits your epidermis tone to set the makeup, and end with a mild blush. lower back, maybelline and rimmel are sturdy manufacturers. you do not could desire to purchase intense end makeup including MAC, till you're particularly invested in makeup and you be attentive to what to purchase and what fits you, because of the fact it is plenty greater costly than drugstore manufacturers. making use of those advice will make you look 'superior' with out looking trashy. do not overdo it, this is my extensive type one tip. till of direction that's the look you're going for, which I actually do not advise for a 13 300 and sixty 5 days previous. have exciting! xx <3

Women in the 1950's wore their make-up in a very different style than shown in grease the movie. People in the 50's were much mor conserved, and didn't want to add too much pazazz. Go with light pinks and light blues. Wear them much like you would wear todays make-up. very light eyeliner, and mascarra. Anything as lone as it looks preserved.

I've found costumes.org to be pretty useful. They have a page on the 50s:
