I am bringing over a friend who has NEVER seen any of the Superman movies. I will of course, watch Superman I, Superman II and Superman Returns (skipping on III and IV), but the question remains, which version of Superman II should I watch? Should it be the Richard Lester 1980 version or the Richard Donner 2006, or both before watching Superman Returns?

Richard Donner's Cut.

No doubt.

...would have to say, hands down, to view the Richard Donner cut; it is not too far removed from the original theatrical version of the film, as far as story. However, the Donner cut reflects the fact that both films were filmed back-to-back, and maintain a definate sense of continuation, from one film to the next. The only story conceptual problem with the Donner cut....Lois' attempt to 'unmask' Clark Kent as Superman, is considerably less spectacular.

Watch the regular theatrical cut. Not only does it have finished effects and scenes as opposed to Donner Cut's temp effects and screen test footage, but it's really a better movie. The Donner Cut is fun to watch as a curiosity, but if you've never seen either before, start with the normal one.

its probably too late now I recomend the Donner version, It bridges the gap between Superman I and Superman Returns well.

Let us know what you chose and if your friend enjoyed it.

nicely, I actually have a question to ask you: Did you ever examine each and each of the DC Comics Superman sequence? if so, you're able to have quite a few solutions on your question/s. See, in between the sequence, he and Loise Lane DID genuinely in basic terms social gathering and actually have a baby(definite, their toddler had Kal-El's powers too). In yet another, Loise knew who Superman truly replaced into, yet their courting replaced into platonic. in a large number of others, Loise replaced into in basic terms left to ask your self who Superman truly replaced into. As to the 2d video clips 2 different endings: Kal-El grew to change into decrease back time both to maintain Loise's existence AND to erase her memory as a fashion to keep her threat-free from getting used antagonistic to Superman could all and sundry discover out she knew who he truly replaced into. As to the "great kiss", nicely, would not you want to attend to to provide the female you want something no one else ought to? for sure you need to. what number different men can take a gal up into the stratosphere and grants them a breathe taking(actually because the oxygen content is so low) kiss? I relax my case.
