are you talking about the skin or the nail? I always whack my toes on things, and have an almost permanent bruise under the toenail. I just polish over it with bright color and move on. it may also be nail fungus, which can darken and slightly discolor your nail. they make anti fungal stuff found at drug store. or go see a podiatrist.
