We are moving to the area and I don't know NJ, PA, or Delaware. Can someone tell me where I can find really good schools, safe, quiet neighborhoods (yeah I'm the soccer mom type.) and afford a 3000 sq. foot house for about $400,000? Any helpful information is Fabulous. There is too much area to just ask a realtor. What is trendy? Too pricey? Getting run down? Etc. We can't afford over $450,000 and don't want to pay anywhere near that much. So, anything you can tell me about the surrounding areas helps a lot! I don't even know if there are other ways to commute ( train or metro)?

Thanks for anything you can tell me.

I have several kids and am not familiar with the area at all. I am looking for great schools, safety and quiet in a family oriented environment. (I'm the soccer mom type.) However, with such a large metropolitan area to look at in 3 states, I was hoping someone familiar with the area can tell me the things that realtors can't. "Avoid these areas for gangs" or "This is the trendy and up and coming area to buy a home" or "this is the snobby area(And so out of my price range)" etc. We would look at about $325k-$450K and need 3000 sq ft. Thanks so much.

Also, If you have info about commuting methods (trains, metro, etc.) or other information that I should know about the area - such as which states have the lowest property taxes, that would be helpful. Thanks so very much!

Hi! I used to visit reside approximately five - 10 mins clear of Chester, so I went to Ridley top tuition. It used to be now not the fine tuition, however I took expertise of AP publications and acquired right into a fairly well university. So I recognise plenty approximately Ridley township, PA. If I needed to decide on a position in Ridley twp. to transport to, it might as a rule be Ridley Park, a lovely smallish the town that says to be historical and has a small downtown browsing discipline. It's nearly I - ninety five and has a coach station that serves each Amtrak and SEPTA's R2 line. You sound such as you would certainly find the money for to reside there - it is truthfully as a rule underneath your fee variety. From your description, regardless that, you sound such as you'd be extra keen on a position like Swarthmore, PA. It's a lovely university the town, nearly most important highways and obtainable via SEPTA's R3 local rail and bus traces. I do not know the way a lot the typical apartment expenses (certainly greater than Ridley might be), however it is valued at a appear. Another position to determine out might be Media, PA. It's ridiculously obtainable via public transportation and has a good bigger downtown browsing discipline than the 2 different areas I urged. Good good fortune relocating!

I suggest you contact the local police department and talk to them about what areas are safest. It wouldn't hurt to get in contact with the school board there as well.
