A 50.0 g sample of liquid water at 25.0C is mixed with 29.0g of water at 45.0C. The final temperature of the water is____C? The specific heat capacity of liquid water is 4.18J/g-K.

Don't I subtract the initial from the final temp? If so, what does the specific heat cap have to do with it?

The specific heat does not play any role.

50(T-25) = 29(45-T)

or 50T+29T = 29*45+50*25

or T = 32.34 deg C
