Don't get me wrong, I'm a Yankees fan and I am thrilled to finally be able to root for A-Rod without reservation. Just wondering why now -- is it because his contract is up at the end of the season? Did he get some good therapy sessions with a sports psychologist? Is he eating pop rocks candy?
Well, in any case, go Yanks, go A-Rod!

Sorry but despite the stats, in the past he just has not come through for the Yanks when they needed it. He was in a slump for a while last year, that's not just my imagination or perception. And his fielding was off for a while. This year so far Jeter is making a whole bunch of errors, which is sad to see.

.........give it time, by mid Summer he will bumbling fielding balls and striking out in crucial situations like old times...and then the post season disappearance.

I'm sorry but you can't be a true Yankees fan and ask a question like that....did you not forget that he was MVP twice and that he was the fastest person in baseball history to 400 homeruns....look up his stats before you start freaking out because he hits homeruns...he's just making up for last season...which btw wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be

Turnaround? In 2006 A-Rod hit .290, scored 113 runs, hit 35 HR, had 114 RBI, and stole 15 bases. I don't understand Yankees fans.

Am i crazy or was he not the Mvp 2 seasons ago? Is the guy not allowed to have a down year? Im a yankee fan, but i hate the way wwe get on these players when they struggle. Its not his fault they have no pitching and cant win in the playoffs anymore. Check his career stas, he is one of the all tiem greats

Though he's hot now, it doesn't mean its gonna stay that way. My own guess is that after all the media attention and so much focus on his slump, he gathered it all together this season. Fresh slate, new season, a new chance to revamp his image...and I think his numbers are showing the turnaround along with those clutch hits he's been getting.

Alex was always a hard worker when he was a Mariner. He was one of the first at the ballpark, and at spring training. He is always looking to work on something. He probably just upped his training when he hit that big slump last year. Worked harder to get back to form this season.

Who's side are you on? We're having a good time here! This question is really spoiling the mood.
You didn't question A-Rod last year so why are you questioning him this year?
We have enough haters out there as it is.

Nope. He actually lost weight over the off season and it has done wonders for his bat speed.
