Nicholas Sparks.

He has wrote some amazing novels. However the movies that were made recently are crap. the notebook and a walk to remember are both amazing novels. However the movies not so amazing.

Movies just aren't long enough to play through all the emotions and past stories that go into the novels.

Christopher Moore.
HILARIOUS author, totally out there. Titles like "Island of the Sequined Love Nun", "The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror", "The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove". My fave so far is "A Dirty Job", but his most recent is funny too - "You Suck! A Love Story".
Enjoy!

Fiction: Jodi Picoult. Her novels are beautifully written and thought provoking.

Non-fiction: Ann Rule. She writes about real cases in a way that makes you understand, if not sympathize with, the villian.
