Because west Indies were at no 8 in the rankings when he took over and still is no 8.

That is a LONG LONG standing problem that has been going on.

Lara, while being an amazing batsman, is a very difficult person to work with and had rubbed people the wrong way for a long while.

Its not just this series, but many other before. They should not have let him be captain, it interfered with his batting. But then again, he was always someone who wanted to take charge and constantly knocked heads with others.

The criticisms come a lot from West Indians, because they know what is going on in the team. But he was not the only one at fault, there were many others( mainly the WICB) but the captain is the appointed head and thus takes the brunt of the blame.

tsk tsk, such a shame. .............. We shouldn't have lost Lara in such circumstances.

brian lara, idiot above me

hes made some bad decisions

against sri lanka, he sent them in, when it was an awesome batting pitch, they made 303
against nz, wasnt an awesome batting pitch, got skittled for 177 and the kiwis knocked off the runs with 10 overs to spare

in addition, the captaincy appears to have degraded his batting
his scores havent been so bad, but they are much less then he is usual, and it appears to have contributed to the west indies' poor showing at their home tournament. however, it is not only him to blame. blame should be placed on all the players

good reasons?

i think it is because of his captaincy during the world cup and the poor performance of the team during the tournament. in my opinion Lara did all he could the individual players should be blamed also.

he is an ***. A lot of these older 'used to be good' cricketers should have left ages ago the remind me of African dictators, once in power they don't want to leave. And then other good players miss out on ever playing and making the big time.
