Something has dug under the lattice under my porch and dug 2 holes up against my house foundation. There is a pile of gravel about the size of a wheel barrel load next to one hole.
I suspect this is rabbits but I have not actually seen them.

Any suggestions on removal? I tried to flood the hole with a garden hose but gave up as the hole never filled up.

The yellow pages in my rural neighborhood seems focused on termites not varments.

You can purchase fox urine and spot it around your house. That will scare off most small critters.

Most likely not rabbits. Sounds more like groundhogs, or possums. Rabbits will make a fairly shallow hole in the ground, ( even in the middle of your front yard) for the birth area of their young. It will be fan shaped and less than the size of your fist. Wheel barrow sized pile sounds like groundhogs. The worst would be skunks, although you probably would have got the "hint" by now. Trapping groundhogs, if that is what they are, will be about the only way.

I agree with Ret. Sgt. Given the amount of material excavated and the dark location where they are going, it's either a groundhog or opossums. Snunks are possible, but less likely and you would have known their presence by now. Both groundhogs and opossums are hard to live trap -much harder than racoons or rabbits. As long as it's not a snunk and not invading your house or doing lots of damage to your gardens, my suggestion is to just live with it. Otherwise, you'll need to call a professional. Poison is a very mean and unhappy last resort. Where do you live?

It doesn't sound like rabbits, they don't dig huge holes like that.Your best bet would to call you local DNR for advice. Depending on where you live it could be a protected animal like a wood chuck, like them or not.The DNR will tell you what you need to do so you don't break any laws or senselessly kill an animal. You should ask yourself ,"is it really bothering me that much".Also in most areas relocating a wild animal on your own is against the law and this time of year there are also babies, save yourself the hassle and let the DNR help

Sounds more like ground squirrels. You will not fill up the hole as your foundation should drain the water. Try putting some poison pellets down the hole, like at Lowe's. Also you can put some lit charcoal down the hole. It produces lots of carbon monoxide and will kill the little varmints quickly. You can also try some Avon perfume on a soaked rag stuffed down the hole. Human hair sometimes works. And keep the lattice repaired and tight to the ground, maybe put some chicken wire in back of it to keep small furry things out.

For about $25 you can purchase a live trap, and catch the varmints yourself.
