Hello,

I have a few questions about Vitamin D.

In 'normal' words(non-geeky) what does Vitamin D does to my body?
... I Heard sunlight gives you Vitamin D.. so, is there any way to get a very good amount of Vitamin D without having to tan, like not even a little of tan..

I really hate tanning!

Reasons to why I hate tanning: I love my skin colour but I don't want to suffer from Vitamin D problems (I'm always like hiding of the sun)

yes sunlight gives you vitamin D. Wear Sun tan lotion? Well I'm not sure if it would still seep into your body. Not sure. But V. D does come from the sun. You can probably take tablets or something if you really want it. Your the first person I heard who hates tanning.

Vit D helps our bodies absorb minerals, such as calcium. That's just one of the things it does.
It is not necessary at all to "tan" to get your Vitamin D.
For one thing, in many countries Vitamin D is added to milk. Read your carton/jug to see if it is already in your milk.

Also, I read awhile ago that all people need to get the right amount of Vit D from the sun would be to expose 1 square inch of skin to the sun for 15 min per day. Obviously, no one is going to do that, but what it means is that if your arms are not covered, and you just go outside for a minute or 2, you'll get enough vitamin D.
The paler your skin is, the better it is as using the sun to make Vit D.
