The coral reefs benefit the fish by many ways, by giving them a place to hide from bigger fish that cannot get to some places, the coral reefs can also give them food , some fish like the parrot fish that decorate some corners with corals so there the parrot fish can lay it eggs and hide them in the decorated corner.

Some fish (such as parrot fish) actually feed off the coral and with the digestion they spit out the coral in a broken down form, sand.

The coral reff around Guam is beautiful and offers good protection for the small fish and also the island. It fascinated me that there were big gaps in the coral and my friend pointed out that a small river came out there and the fresh water killed the carrel.
