Gore's movie was made to motivate people to action and is not the real scientific argument which is very complex. The people who criticize the movie are also not talking about the real scientific case. Scientist are becoming increasing convinced that man's activities are effecting the climate and the last report said a 90% probability. Since we are not going to do any thing effective to reduce CO2 emissions in the next few years, we will find out for sure over the next 10 or 20 years. If we are willing to spend billions to protect against the possibility of terrorist attack or a nuclear weapon by Saddam, it seems to me we should also spend to protect against the possibility of climate change by developing new technologies There are other reasons to drive smaller cars, like not increasing the profits of terrorist supporting nations and the price of gas.

I saw a documentary the other day which showed that historically the amount of carbon in the atmosphere only increases AFTER a warm period in the earths history. It lags by about 800 years. This is where its claimed Al Gores graph is misleading. The reason for this is that warmer temperatures very slowly heat up the sea, the warmer the water is, the more CO2 it gives up to the atmosphere.
The documentary showed that historically, warm periods in earths history are directly associated with increased sunspot activity.
This suggests that global warming is totally out of our control and not affected very much by how much carbon we put into the air.
But all the same I don't mind if people want to believe in global warming caused by our pollution because its making people reduce pollution which can only be a good thing.

It's not so much that the graph is fake but that it's not identical to other graphs depicting the same information. If you analyse the graph in detail there are discrepancies and minor inaccuracies but by and large it's accurate.

There's been an awful lot of research into global warming and many thousands of reports. Depending which sources you refer to will determine just how the graph of temperature changes looks. That said, no matter which source you go to the general shape of the graph with the sudden surge in the last 200 years will be the same.

Here's a good page which has several temperature change graphs on it... http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Temperature_Gallery

Yes you are correct It is known as the hockey stick graph and is well known to be false. The climate has changed many times over millions of years this is not reflected in his graph and is ignored.
The global warming scam is being unravelled slowly but surely.
