"Anyway,from what I've heard, there's a story to the album. The Patient has died, more than likely from cancer:
- There's a song on the album called Cancer
- Gerard Way, on the interview video on www.theblackparade.com, said his new look is modelled after how he imagined The Patient, white hair being similar to someone undergoing chemotherapy.
He looks back on his life, contemplating the mistakes and such like in his life.
Gerard said that he believes Death comes in the form of however you want it. As seeing the marching band was a strong memory from The Patient's childhood, The Black Parade is how he sees Death coming to get him. "

The Story Of The Black Parade is that death comes in your most vivid memory... in the lead character's role "The Patient" turns out that his most vivid memory was a parade in the city his father took him to when he was a young boy... So death came to him in the form of a Black Parade...
I think that's how it goes... I read it somewhere...

Not for me.. I think they are describing Death, the father says, one day I'll leave you.... to join the Black Parade. That would be the March of Death for me

The "Black Parade" is the symbol MCR used to refer to a celebration of death or dying. Black being a symbol of death, and parade being a celebration.

no the album is telling a story of a guy with cancer that is dying which i think is gerard because he has lost a dramatic amount of weight.

I thought it was hell, the dead, or the army ( I thought 'dead' because black=mourning, dont ask, lol)
