I'm writing a story that includes a scene with violets in it. Can anyone tell me what month wild violets are likely to be in bloom?

Specifically, I would like to know if there is a type of violet that might possibly still be in bloom in mid September. If not, then is there any type of wild flower that might be in bloom in late summer/early autumn, particularly in the South (Arkansas). I know... it's a stretch.

Violets are a spring blooming perennial, sorry! :(
There are however many flowers that start blooming in mid sumemr and continue on into September and even until the first frost in your state of Arkansas. One in particular is called 'Obedient Plant', which doesn't even start for me here in Ohio until well into August. Chrysanthemums are another fall blooming perennial. You can do a google search for 'perennials' and most retail sites have the months of bloom for most plants. Also you could call a local nursery and ask rhem for the name of a flower that blooms in your area in September.
