How is it done?
I know I have 2 drink alot of fluids before I go..
While it is done can I ask questions?
Will I know the results before I leave?

If one is having an abdominal ultrasound (where they do the test with putting the probe on top, on the abdomen) then you need to drink about 32 oz of water an hour before the test but with a transvaginal (where they go inside with the probe like when the dr does your pelvic exam) you don't need to drink any water. Now it's possible that your dr may have ordered both kinds at the same time so that's when you would drink the water because of the part that is done on top.

As for knowing the results if you are having it done at an imaging place your dr will get the results in about 2 or 3 days. If you are getting it done at the dr's office and your dr is set up like mine is you'll probably get the results from the dr right before you leave.

Yes, you can ask the tech questions during the procedure about what she's seeing. I've done that myself sometimes to ask them what organ is what.
