I've heard every staggering figure pulled out of thin air by the gun-cult, of armed Americans protecting their lives with guns.
Why do we NEVER EVER see even one such report of such incidents on CNN FOX on mainstream media? How about your local newspaper?

There are some such cases no doubt....but a million a year?...a thousand a day?...come on you guys!!...please submit here say a 100 published, police-documented news stories from yesterday of armed Americans defending themselves against armed criminals....that would be 36,500 a year. So a hundred should be easy...................................I'm waiting........................I'm waiting

Because it's not good news. Many more crimes happen every day that aren't stopped, and they make better press. Write the NRA, ask for proof. Read the "Armed Citizen" column in every months 1st Freedom magazine.

Try breaking into my house although you may not live to read about it. Mostly a quick shot in their general vicinity will cause most dishonest intruders to leave in a hurry. There is no need to file a police report so that people like you can say gun owners are making crime unsafe and hazardous. Do we need more gun control to make crime safe as it did in Australia? By the way did you read the Yahoo News board today about Miss America 1944?

Guns are a way of life in the US that will nevere change. @bugs. That website refers to some statements which were false in 2002. The study regarding Australia never happened. It was a scam from the first reporting. What you will find is that stranger shootings, and non police shootings dropped to 0% in the years following the ban. Only police shootings increased as there was a major gang problem in Melbourne at the time.

They never said the gun had to be *fired* in self-defense.

My wife has brandished a weapon several times in the past to avert an obvious threat -- it worked every time. I also have friends who tell me the same story.

Just putting a .45 in the dashboard above the steering wheel warded off a couple of would-be muggers, on I-40, to my friend, "V".

I saw a man where I used to live who carried a sidearm in plain sight. Granted, this couldn't count in your numbers game, but who really knows how many would-be robbers or muggers shyed away from this guy?

If the standard "letter to the editor or congressman" statistics apply to this Y!Answer, then I just represented about 60,000 of the same thing.

You dont believe the NRA's data but I'm willing tobet you will believe the made up data presented by the gun grabbers with no questions asked.

And I've never seen the GOP put out any gun stats. I think you are lying. Your not one of those types that thinks all GOPers are NRA affiliates or that all liberals are godless are you?

For the individual to have a gun is like a country that has a nuclear weapon. An attacker would have to consider the risk.

When I saved my own life by pulling my Glock 10mm the 2 men who attacked me ran away and I did not report the attack because some liberal might try to have my guns confiscated. Liberals would rather see me dead than allow me to defend myself.
