You could get an infection, that would push it up ;-)

Otherwise stay healthy, eat well, excercise regularly, and your white cell count will take care of itself.
There is a wide range of "normal" for white cell count, yours may be in the lower normal range. Provided they are all working, there should not be a need to increase it.

If the white blood cell count is low due to chemotherapy, a physician may prescribe one of the following drugs:

* Filgrastim (Neupogen®)
* Peg - Filgrastim (Neulasta®) (long acting Filgrastim)
* Sargramostim (Leukine®)

All of these are available by prescription only. All are liquids that need to be injected to be effective. They all stimulate the production of white blood cells by the bone marrow.

These drugs belong to a class called colony-stimulating factors, as they are similar to some proteins produced naturally by the human body. As the name suggests, they stimulate the colonies of cells within the bone marrow to produce more white blood cells. Erythropoetin Alpha (Epogen®) is another colony stimulating factor, but it stimulates the production of red blood cells, not white blood cells. Unfortunately, none of these drugs are cheap, but they may be covered by your health insurance.

Ask your doctor, nurse practitioner, or pharmacist about these drugs and/or look at the manufacturers' websites. They can all give you good information on how, when, and why to use these drugs.

I hope this helped!

White blood cells are made in the flat bones...the scapula, skull and pelvis...the only way to improve the count is a good healthy diet so the body has the materials to work with and exercise so that all systems are kept up to par.
