LOLOLOL.
Thanks, you made me laugh and I could always use a laugh.

Maybe we should have to register to own matches. Lots of kids have burned down their own family's home from playing with matches. Maybe the matches should be locked up in a Match Safe.

There are so many ways to start a fire, I don't think putting tighter laws on matches is going to do much. How would you police it anyway? A magnifying glass can start a fire easily with a bit of sun. They are better off trying to prevent the spread of fires with burn offs and getting people to clear debris and things from around their homes.

Ii don't see that being effective at all. There are many ways to make a fire without matches. I think it would be more effective to have more law enforcement out and about.. It would also help if the reward for reporting fires caused by people was higher.

Like tighter gun control because of all the shootings. I think putting laws on matches would be just a bit too extreme.

I think we need more education. If you want to know more, check with your local FD and see if there is a Firewise organization around. They do all kinds of training and education with the public. However, you can make all the laws you like, but random acts of nature can't be stopped. And there is one thing I have learned in 9 years of firefighting, and that is some people go brain dead when it comes to fire.

It's funny how many folks completely missed the boat on this question. Under 20 feet, a shovel is as dengerous as a gun. We need to pressure the Brady Foundation to start a "Shovel Control Inc." to protect us from this threat.

Matches are a key ingredient in several cook book explosives. Don't be surprised if indeed they are restricted.
