Then you shouldn't really be with them. If you are going to be with someone then you should accept everything about them for what it is. Besides did they really have a choice in their name? Just like you don't have a choice in who your parents are but that doesn't make you who you are. Get over it.

IS it thier first or last?u should have told us the name-but really its just a name, that does not make the whole person.perhaps u should learn more about the name if its the last name, who and what type of family does he come from?maybe the name is held in high regard for thier accomplishments,if not start now and do something the name will always be remembered for.Look it up and see what it means,u may be pleasently surprised.anyways there are many different and unusual names, just look in the phone book. Most people are proud of who they are regardless of thier name, that should be the least of your problems when choosing a mate, dont u think?all the best.

My husband has a very odd name. It's hard to pronounce if you don't already know it, and people always think it's a ladies name. I don't particularly care for it, but we have a name that we all call him for short. So I guess it's no big deal.
The only real problem I have with it is I wonder why his mom did that to him? I've asked and she had her reasons, but my thought is why would you want to do that to your child? In fact your children, because he and all of his brothers and sisters have "different" names. Of course because you've had your name all your life, and it's the only name you've known, you get used to it. So again, for them, I guess it's no big deal. Personally I think I would have changed mine.

I think to a certain extent there are always things about our partners that might embarras us.....could be the way they chew their food, they talk loud, use improper English ~ lol.
The list goes on and on and on......... but if we are with them and love/care for them, none of that should matter. Short of prejudice or racism, I think you need to take him/her as they are.......regardless of their name, which I am really hoping you will post since we are all clearly dying to know exactly what kind of a name would illicite this type of question. :-)

Why be ashamed of someone you love. If that is the case then I would not be with them.

Don't be with anyone you are ashamed of in any way. They deserve better.
